Mexican Film Strand
Once again Raindance opens its doors to Mexico with the aim of presenting the best of independent cinema from a country where talent transcends boundaries and where filmmaking enjoys continued growth.
A stellar festival guest, Mexico at Raindance is the first and only strand in a UK film
international audience in London.
The Mexican Strand offers slots for seven feature films and documentaries to be selected by our Mexican programmers in London alongside guest programmer, Gerardo Salcedo Romero. Once chosen, and as part of the official programme they will be eligible for one of several festival awards.
Submissions and awards
The Mexican strand will accept the submission of feature films and documentaries only. Both will be eligible for consideration in the following awards categories: Best International Feature, Best Debut Feature, Best Documentary Feature and Film of the Festival.
Short films should be submitted independent of the Mexican strand and will be able to compete for the Best International Short, Best Documentary Short and Short Film of the Festival award. Winner of the latter will then be eligible for Oscar™ consideration.
All film material should be submitted through the service site Withoutabox and is subject to the general terms and conditions of Raindance Film Festival.
Cine Mexicano en Raindance
Por segundo año consecutivo, Raindance vuelve a abrir sus puertas a México con el firme objetivo de presentar lo mejor del cine independiente de una región cuyo talento desborda sus fronteras, y de una industria en continuo crecimiento.
La participación de México, como nuestro invitado de honor, representa la primera y única sección de cine enfocado enteramente en dicho país en un festival inglés. Este enfoque crea una excelente oportunidad de descubrir los nuevos talentos emergentes Mexicanos y presentarlos ante nuestra audiencia internacional en Londres.
La sección de Cine Mexicano en Raindance estará conformada por siete largometrajes (ficción y documental) elegidas por nuestros programadores mexicanos en Inglaterra con Gerardo Salcedo Romero como programador invitado. Las películas mexicanas seleccionadas formarán parte de la Competencia Oficial del festival y consideradas para nuestros distintos premios.
Inscripciones y Premios
Las inscripciones para la Sección de cine Mexicano en Raindance están abiertas a largometrajes y documentales que competirán por los premios a Mejor Película Internacional, Mejor Película Debut, Mejor Documental y Mejor Película del Festival.
Los cortometrajes registrados entrarán en el programa general de Raindance, es decir fuera de la Sección de México, compitiendo por el premio a Mejor Cortometraje Internacional, Mejor Cortometraje Documental, Mejor Cortometraje del Festival. El ganador de nuestro premio al ‘Mejor Cortometraje del Festival’ entrará a consideración para los Premios Oscar ™.
Todas las inscripciones de material se realizarán a través de la página de registro Whithoutabox bajo los términos y condiciones generales de Raindance.
